3 month Tick Collar

There was a time when we were relatively safe from paralysis ticks here in Bundaberg with the few cases we saw being dogs that had been travelling with their owners.

Dogs become infected with ticks as they brush through long grass or scrub. Once attached, the tick begins to feed by burrowing its mouth parts into the dog’s skin and sucking blood. After feeding the tick starts producing a potent toxin that affects the dog’s central nervous system and causes progressive paralysis and possible death.

Tick Prevention is the key

With the number of cases on the increase more dog owners are using tick collars and now there is a new 3 month paralysis tick collar called Scalibor

How Scalibor works

As your dog moves and the Scalibor collar rubs against their coat, the gentle friction releases a small amount of the active ingredient deltamethrin from the surface of the collar. The natural oils of the skin carry the active ingredient over the whole body, forming a protective layer.

  • Scalibor provides long lasting 3 month protection against Paralysis Ticks.
  • It has no unpleasant odours and transfers to your dogs skin through friction, not vapour action.
  • One size fits all.
  • Safe for use in puppies from 8 weeks of age.

If a tick is found it should be removed immediately (using finger nails or tweezers)
